I want mine

Post by 911 »

In this world and in this time of our "sense of self entitlement", I want mine.

For many years women were not allowed to vote. When the movement began to embark on womens rights, women were jailed, tortured, shunned and humiliated. Who knows what this country would be now, if, in the beginning, women were allowed to vote.

But we will never know. Perhaps they would have voted along with their husbands and nothing would have changed. Or perhaps, in the secrecy of the booth, they would have voted their own minds and changed everything as we now know it.

So, since the female population was denied these rights, we should be compensated. I suggest that for every election; city, state and national elections, women should have two votes.

I think the polls have proven that we are not unintelligent. We don't vote for the prettiest, the ones that handhold the female population or those that promise things we know will not come about.

The polls have proven that we listen, we compare candidates and we vote for the best for our families, cities, states and country. OK, so we fall for crap that even men fall for. False promises, lies, cheats, swindles and corrupt politicians. Point proven that we are just as human as men were for so many years that we did not have the vote.

Maybe it's time we took a stand and said, "Let us try this now". I know some people will think we will automatically vote for a women for any political position. Not so, or Hillary would be way out front of Obama.

So, what do you say gals? Rally round the old flag pole and let's get ours!

It seems to work for everyone else, right?:yh_flag

Hey, why not, but let's make a deal, how about voting for what is best for the whole country, a new concept I admit, but if we all vote only for what is most important to us, we are going to in very deep trouble. And please promise not to swallow all the pandering from the politicians. By the way if you lived in some countries in the Midddle East, you still would not be able to vote. :)

As opposed to what? This is my country. What? I would vote what is best for Africa?

I don't swallow what I don't understand. Politicians are a leech on our society. They are supposed to vote the way we want them to. How often do you see that happen? I don't have enough money to make them vote the way I want them too anyway! :wah:

By the way if you lived in some countries in the Midddle East, you still would not be able to vote. :)

Ah, but that's the great thing. I don't live in the Middle East. If you lived in the Middle East, you would have to wear a dress whether you wanted to or not!:D

Seems to me women have been voting long enough to have made a difference. But, we are more screwed up now than ever. Maybe we should take away women's vote awhile and see if that helps.

Aren't you cute! :yh_eyebro

But you don't see women building bigger and better ways to kill people, do you?

By the way, debating politics was not the reason for my thread. Entitlement was.

I say take the vote away from men, if women ran the world we would all love each other (as long as we followed the rules of love, which is "do what your told or else"), war would end in the morning (but would start up for about 4 days every month without fail), the economy would boom as women are such great comsumers, but we would probably run out of precious Handbag and Shoe resources very quickly; criminals would be dealt with by having group discussions about how hard it is to be a murderer nowdays (with the price of knives and guns going up all the time); there would be no more difficult public debates, everyone would simply smile and nod at whatever crap got pushed through by the government and then bitch about it afterwards.

Yes, lets do it, what have we got to lose?

1. Yes, I used to be considered good looking.

2. We needed better weapon systems to fight the larger and more numerous wars since women started voting, and made no difference.

3. You want to talk vote, entitlement, but not politics? Fine. Lets talk bible then. Where does the bible say woman's place is? See how it ties in? We try to make women equal to men, contrary to bible teachings, everything gets more ********d up than ever.

Don't get that statement AT ALL !

Wars have been raging for thousands of years......votes for women by limited sections of the community came into being in 1918 in the UK....it took 10 years for ALL women to be able to vote...... seems to me that the societys that have equality for women have a far more balanced view of life.

While everyone's throwing stones (some padded some not), anybody care to tell me how things changed after women got the vote? I'm not saying they shouldn't get to vote; I'm saying women and men vote virtually the same way.

Uh to hell with the bible. I'm getting tired of that being the be-all end-all of every discussion.

Red, I'm sorry we got off to a rocky start and I wouldn't blame you for hating me. I was a bit testy with spot and others too. These days all I got to do is think about better times. In those days, I had to react immediately, right or wrong.

I'll try hard to temper my tongue and think of others feelings.

Hey Hoppy, we can always start again. :) I am just super protective of animals which is why I reacted to you as I did.

It wasn't anything personal as much as it was just me looking out for the animals. I often need to temper my own tongue so I can appreciate you saying that.

Why don't we just start fresh? :-6
