Going to the movies

Post by chonsigirl »

Is something everyone does, all the time. It has been over 3 1/2 years since I have gone to the movies. I took my husband to see Narnia, it was great. (his first time out to the mall) I had so much fun going to the movies again, and enjoyed munching on the goodies. (yes, my husband had his fair share of the popcorn) :wah:

The little joys of life, they are great. :)

It's been ages since I went to the movies. Hubby and I like to cuddle up on the couch at home, with a bowl of popcorn, and watch a movie on TV. That's another simple pleasure.:)

That sounds familiar minus the popcorn,we both have a pick of what movie to watch.

I pick one week,he picks the next. Then we will watch the football:-6

Awesome Chonsi, and great pic, Kathy! Was the Narnia movie the new Prince Caspian one? I think I saw an ad for that here. Not released yet. We're heading the other way in Australia - it's getting steadily colder. Ski season opens in a few weeks.

Yes, it was Prince Caspian. It was a really good movie, so much like the books.

It's on my list, Chonsi. Don't think it's been released here yet. I did see the new Indiana Jones movie. A disappointment. My next cinema outing will be to see 'Moliere' - which I partly saw in the plane on the way back to Australia last week (before they cut it off due to some technical hitch geesch). What I did see reminded me a bit of 'Shakespeare in Love' - lots of local colour, and allusions to literary works, but with a good dose of humour and fiction tossed in to make it all a fun story.

I am a Movie Freak. always have been. My senior year of High School I was a doorman in a theater. I once sat through three double features in one day, complete with news reels and cartoons. That was in Chicago 1953 and I was just on my way to Korea. And now, I will go to the movies once or twice a month as well as watch two to three movies a week through Netflix. My biggest problem is trying to find a good movie that I have not seen. I have been reduced to watching docos here of late and there are some real goodies.

AussiePam - that's too bad that you thought the Indiana Jones movie was disappointing. I still want to see it, especially after reading the June More Magazine interview with Karen Allen who seems like a great person and a great actress. I loved the description in the article by Harrison Ford:

“Karen has this sort of girlish streak to her, even as a mature woman. And yet it’s not a coy thing. It’s not a weak thing. She has a sense of adventure, Harrison Ford noticed. On the first day of filming, “there I was in a fedora and a leather jacket and she showed up up looking like the Karen of old. Or of young.

have you read that issue?

That's wonderful news chonsi!!! It's amazing how sometimes we forget, as we take for granted the little things that can be snapped away in the blink of an eye!

Hoping for continued success for you & your husband, wishing you both only the very best! :)

Going to the movies

i love going to movies, there's nothing like experiencing a good movie on the big screen of a movie theater!

i used to average going to the movies at least once a week, i'd usually go on the weekends.

but i haven't been in over two years, i had morning sickness so bad with Jacob that i could hardly get out of bed, i couldn't risk sitting through a movie!:wah::wah: then after he was born i just haven't wanted to go much where he can't go with me!

i don't know what would be a good age to try taking him to a movie any suggestions?

I recently went to see a movie called 'Ironman', come straight from the Marvel series like some of the others that made it to movies.

If you like action, highly recommended

I saw Sex and the City for the 2nd time last night...LOL

I still need to see Iron Man & Indiana Jones. That More article I mentioned, made me really want to see Allen in it b/c it made me remember how awesome she was in the original Indiana Jones, as a bartender in Nepal, drinking all the men under the table:)
