My oldest son stayed with me awhile. I never could understand his refusal to close anything. He would open a closet door, leave it open. Same with all drawers, cabinet doors etc. Drove me nuts to get up in the morning and find all the doods and drawers open, water tap still running, often.

My hubby invited two lunatics round for coffee, I mean they were on weekend release from the physc unit! the man dribbled on his shirt front and mumbled into his tea cup and his wife was convinced that she was being irradiated with rays generated by all things electrical.

Then one sunday a couple turned up and asked for hubby by name saying that he had said if they were passing to drop in.So I invited them in, I made coffee and as we chatted I caught my husbands eye and to my horror he silently mouthed 'who are they'?

He had no recollection of inviting them round didn't know who they were or even where he had met them.

They left after an hour or two and to this day I have no idea who they were!

Then he invited a Russian refugee to stay for a few days while the guy waited for his visa to come through that turned into a 3 month stay.

Ive now banned hubby from talking to people in the pub in the hope that it will stem the flow of strangers through our house!

I imagine being married to Mahatma Gandhi must have been like that, Victoria. Did you know you were marrying a saint when you said yes?

Some hellish nightmares, thoughts of suicide, I recall curling up in a fetal position.

Nothing funny comes to mind though.

Saint is not what I call him pain in the Ar** more like.

when we move we are buying a really small house no room for visitors.

I don't mind people popping in but he brings home the weirdo's and his family ( almost one and the same) come for weeks on end as well.:-5

Good tip to anyone moving abroad, buy a small house that way if people want to visit they have to stay in a hotel, sounds unfriendly but it gives you peace and actually helps you stay friends with whoever is visiting.
