Friend had 8mm that he sent in to have made into dvd. Two issues: 1. Windows media player won't play it and 2. he's too embarrassed to let me see movies of him as a little kid....:rolleyes::wah:

I'll take any free advice you have on either of the two issues.

WMP probably hasn't got the correct codecs installed. If you've got NeroVision, that will usually work. I would do a straight copy using nero, that will crack the codecs, then burn onto a DVD-R disc and it will play on any pooter or DVD player.:)

A VOB file (Video Object) is a container format contained in DVD-Video media. VOB is based on MPEG-2 program stream format, but with additional limitations. :p
