without googling first ... does anyone know what piano babies are and what they were used for? :-3

(and no nomad they were not chix who sat on the piano players laps!)

Piano Baby

Piano baby is a collector’s term. About 1880, the well-decorated home had a shawl on the piano. Bisque figures of babies were designed to help hold the shawl in place. They range in size from 6 to 18 inches. Most of the figures were made in Germany. Reproductions are being made. Other piano babies may be listed under manufacturers’ names

Pretty little figurines, for on top of the piano. I have two, they are placed inbewteen photos of my children. All my babies are on my upright piano.

Oh, and one little stern Chopin dude too............:wah:
