Hey--------wasn't recess fun when we were in elementary school. Dodge ball and other games. Well---------retirement is like recess except you don't have to go back to class (work). I have been retired since 1993 and I have had so many people ask "What's retirement like? What do you do with your time?". Knowing what I know now, I would have retired at 50 instead of 58.
This morning for example I played Pickle Ball from 8 AM to 10 AM (after first going online to check email, stock quotes, news), then at 10:30 AM I teed off to play 9 holes of golf finishing at 12:30 PM for lunch and a 45 minute nap.
It's now 1:45 PM and I am rested and will be online for a bit then off to play table tennis until 4:30 PM. About 5:30 my wife and I will go out to dinner (probably Mexican food) and then at 7 PM we will both play nine ball (billiards) with another couple until about 9 PM and then home to watch a movie on DVD. By the way---------all these activities are within 10 minutes of where we live.
When do you plan to retire?

8 more years for me. I can hardly wait. If it is like summer vacation, my days are happily spent writing, playing my musical instruments, being online, TKD and the gym each afternoon and sleeping in to 6 each morning.

Lon, what is "pickle ball"?
I'm happy for you, by the way. I'm sure you have earned your retirement. But unlike recess, there is no bell to end it.

that would be great to be able to retire at 58!
with farming we have no retirement age, we just keep on until we're not able to do it any more.
my father-in-law is 78 and still farming, but i think the activity keeeps him healthier than if he were doing nothing.

I'm happy for you. :-4 :-6
I have no idea when or what we'll do, we have to get the kids to adulthood first.
