no one to turn to........................dh doesn't understand anymore.

tis usually Jack, one of my four cats.....he always needs and wants to be with me.....and he doesn't judge me.

may sound stupid, but just by patting him................it brings relief & contentment.

God.....prayer is powerful.....

then.....

and if I have people around, depending on WHY I'm blue.....most the time its my boys and they have a wonderful way of cheering me up!!

Other times I need to call in reinforcements of the family....I have gone through some real tough times in the last two years and between friends and family, not sure if I would've been able to cope....

And chocolate is always a quicker-picker-upper!!!:p

Awww, I love your kitty...so cute....I understand that.....animals have a healing way about them....and they don't talk back, they just love you for who you are.

he is a funny looking duck!

This is why its also important for seniors & others who have no one, to have pets around......if anyone has ever noticed after patting an animal for just a couple of minutes......it lowers your heart rate, your blood pressure, and your also thinking about the animal.............and not your problems. These are true facts..............and they work.

My dogs cuz they just listen. I usually crawl inside myself and stay away from everyone and everything. I have found a couple people on FG that share some of the same depression problems I have, so I have them to go to.

why i brought this subject up. i have a dear friend who lives over 1,000 miles away. she always knows when i need to hear her witty sence of humor. this evening i was blue and the phone rang. Thank you God for friend's like her.

I have a very strong belief in the power of prayer, i talk to God quite often!

i have a couple of family members a can talk to about some things, and i have all my friends here in the garden!

and of course lots and lots of chocolate!

Odie, your cat is very cute.

I usually don't go to anyone anymore because my Blue Moods are somewhat of a regularity and people either don't understand, don't want to bother understanding, or they're tired of it. So who needs that, right? I usually become scarce during those times. Scarce in the forums and online communicating and scarce among my friends in outside life. I crawl into books if I have it in me. They are an escape. Then it passes. And I return.

It doesn't happen very often but when it does, I talk to my parrot Kooka (pic on my profile page). She will ask me "what are you talking about" or "mama I need a cracker". This cracks me up and it makes me forget about what was even bothering me in the first place :wah:

I give myself 2 hours... sometimes less. I just let myself be blue... usually within an hour or so I'll have one of those 'you idiot' moments and then I move on...

I'm the same way, Sunny. I prefer to be alone and,eventually, just shed the blues myself. If I do get the blues, it's nobody's responsibility but mine. Because I do count my blessings and appreciate what I have, I seldom get the blues. But I'm human........so those moments come........and go.
