Dual Citizenship

Post by Lon »

I am curious as to how many people on FG have dual citizenship. My wife has both New Zealand and U.S citizenship as well as passports.

The British are really weird about this. When we asked about it they said we had to choose British or 'other'.

When we then decided to change to our Dutch nationality they treated us like criminals we were spoken to like naughty children and lectured on the wonderful thing it was that we were giving up.

As parents we were not allowed to make the same decision for our children so they had dual nationality until they were 18.

if we ever manage to stay in one place for any length of time my hubby will apply for US citizenship and me and the kiddies might go for Irish citizenship so then we'll all be duel. :)
