How To Spot An American Counterfeit

I know what to look for on Canadian bills. We've got massive UV markings that show up under the light. I don't see the same thing on US bills, especially one "dallar" bills.

There is always more and more technology going into the security of money. In Australia we apparently have a "Very safe" currency. Has anybody thought that this could actually cause more problems.

If it is widely known that the currency it very difficult to counterfit then noone will check it and all a counterfitter needs to do is make a passable copy that feels similar to the note and noone will ever check it.

Secondly if someone wanted to counterfit some notes then they would be best to make copies of small values. when you rhink about it, a $100 will probably only pass between you and the clerk and the bank making detection likely and the number of possible suspects limited

BUT if you were to pass off smaller notes then they would be given out as change and then used to purchase something else and so on. this of course makes it impossible to pinpoint the suspect and any finger prints would most likely also be destroyed.

They make counterfeit marking pens which leaves a light amber mark on domestic and most international currencies, and a black or dark brown mark on counterfeit bills.

I like to wear skin tight masks like they do in Mission Impossible. Then when the time is right I snatch the mask off and scream GOTCHA !

Sometimes they run away in fear and other times they just stand there paralyzed in a puddle of their own urine.

Only take US quarters. All the paper money is encoded with a tracking chip. Nickels and dimes are ok also but they take up too much space.

Counterfeit $20.00 's are popular, and easily passed on.

Easily passed into CASINOS, it was quite a problem last time I was in Washington.

Casino's have the cash machines - you quessed it

the exchange was being done with the machines.

Most clerks use those pens on $20.00's & up.

so the crooks made $ 10.00 conterfeit.

sure $$ Ones can be spent - not worth the trouble for the crook

I received a bad $20.00 during a garage sale - bank let me know, before I handed to a clerk & was arrested....:-2

NOMAD - are you ZORRO the Detective ?

too funny
