XPI files?

Post by RedGlitter »

I am trying to get FasterFox, the tweak program for Firefox, but I keep getting that "unknown file/Windows can't open" glitch. Apparently it's an xpi file and there are programs to open this file for me, yes? What do I need to do?

Its a Zip file so you need to find and download the actually application for Firefox that does this, Or reload the browser.

[QUOTE]Extension: XPI

Program and/or Extension Function Mozilla/Firefox Browser Extension Archive Mozilla

Specific Notes [What's This?]

This is basically a ZIP file that, when opened by the browser utility, installs a browser extension. This extension applies to both Mozilla and Firefox browsers. .....

Firefox 3.0:

1) Open the file using WinRAR.

2) Open the install.rdf file with Notepad.

3) Change the bottom line to 3.0 1.5 3.0.0.

4) Save and close.

5) Drag and drop the FasterFox FX file into the extensions window of Firefox and install it.
