They are priceless......
Glass Vision
by me
On the lab desk,
beside a balance beam
and metallic cubes,
glassware in formulated lines
that nudge photocopied skills
for tomorrow’s performance
rainbows gleam
from within the largest beaker,
chromatic visions swirl in flight
within it’s embrace,
folded remembrances
of students as the years pass,
placed within the glass
among their peers
origami cranes
with outstretched wings of hope,
creased with intensity of youth
as each pleated line
embraces their sheen of color
until gently blossoms their creation
into a bird of beauty
gently lowering their fantasy
into the crystalline cosmos,
they fly among the stars
in search of knowledge,
a reminder of school days
and laughter in the classroom,
that soar forever on her desk
****
We make them each year, they sit on my desk and I look at them often, and wonder where my students have soared to in life.

My boss used to get new dollar bills and was always making some shape or other. He game them to my kids and they never spent them..:-6
I expressly forbid the use of any of my posts anywhere outside of FG (with the exception of the incredibly witty 'get a room already' )posted recently.
Folks who'd like to copy my intellectual work should expect to pay me for it.:-6

My next door neighbor is a 4' 10" Japanese widow that learned her Origami in
Japan as a young woman. She has made and displayed many of her pieces at the local art center. The pieces are beautiful and complex as well as varied.

My brother is an artist that uses many mediums. In my opinion his finest work is a 3 dimensional Eagle he made from paper, not Origami but amazing just the same. It took him 3 yrs to make and he used over 10,000 pieces of heavy paper.

I love folded paper -- especially £50 notes.
