Today's the day, or rather, tonight's the night when you either love it or hate it.

Is it fun or fear? Masks and playing pranks can be scary. Do you agree or disagree?

I used to love a good, harmless prank. Once, I was boss of a night shift crew. One fellow had the habit of coming behind my desk and standing there, probably to see what I was writing. One night he leaned over my desk to talk to one of the female employees. I was waiting for that chance. I took a length of toilet paper from my shirt pocket and carefully slipped it into the space between his waistband and shirt. When he stood up straight, it looked like he had a long piece of TP stuck in his butt. The place was laughing it up that night. Poor guy didn't know why until he actually did go to the rest room.

the masks the teens wear are very frightening, but then again, they shouldn't

doing halloween...........its an occasion for the kids

because teens are also very tall and the masks they wear, are truly outragiously frightening..they are not the regular kids masks, these are big material ones, and should be left for halloween parties only.

We have pretty decent kids in the neighborhood.. parents out in force, so everyone pretty much behaves.:-6

There are the pumpkin smashers... i've never understood the fun of that..
I expressly forbid the use of any of my posts anywhere outside of FG (with the exception of the incredibly witty 'get a room already' )posted recently.

Folks who'd like to copy my intellectual work should expect to pay me for it.:-6

it is just a happy time for children of all ages. It is not meant to offend anyone. I have friends who say the holiday is a slap in the face to God. It is just away to have fun. nothing less, nothing more.:)

Tonight here in Britain, the police are out in force. We are told, it is now one of their busiest nights.

Is this because of groups of charming little children dressed up in pixie costumes looking for sweets from a kindly neighbour? NO, the police are out in force because like most things British, our yobs find it a convienience to intimidate people into handing over money. Last year saw record complaints of criminal damage being done to property because British youngsters don't understand that it's supposed to be fun. The 'trick' part of trick or treat has become menace with youngsters believing that if some poor pensioner can't afford to hand over money, then they are 'open' to having missiles hurled at their house.

We also see very young children knocking on strangers doors without an adult betwwen them.

If this was not the case, i would not be having another conversation with a senior police officer tonight who called the groups of kids, 'a bloody' nuisence.

No-one objects to Halloween in the traditional form but as usual here, youngsters believe it is their 'right' for money for nothing, the same as penny for the guy.

I wish it were fun. I would happily give money to little kids who had put some efforet into making a costume, infact i'd like to see it.

We were on route tonight and there was one crowd and there must have been at least 30 in total on a housing estate going door to door. That's not fun, that's intimidation.

What also surprises me, is the amount of adults who do it as well, any excuse to knock on some-one's door and get something for nothing. Sorry, i must sound like a grump but you should listen to my elderly neighbours who absolutely dread this time of year.

God, I sound like an old fogey - but when we had and participated in Halloween, it was just a good time, with very few pranks. But, what I see now is really not good - from giving out rotten candy (poisoned) or with other disgusting things in them to many reasons for the older kids to try and get booze and get drunk and be very destructable. We live in a condo, so no one comes for candy, but the Halloween idea is entirely ruined from what it used to be.

We give out candy. But my hubs had one kid tonight who said "I don't like that candy you just put in my bag". After that, the lights went off:mad:
