I think that if I ever got a dog that I would have to name him 'Stay'.

Can you imagine how much fun you could have with that:

‘Here Stay’

‘Come here Stay’¦

‘I said come here Stay’

The dog would go nuts.

Why not just shift poppy to Pompy Oomy Jimbo ?

It has that Hawaiin native tribal leader ring to it.

People love Hawaiin tribal leader stuff.

I had a friend with a beagle who made the mistake of letting the dog off the lead.

The dog took off into the bushes at an area designated as a gay meeting place.

My male friend then had to search through the bushes calling 'Harry Harry where are you'? for 45 minutes while trying to explain to visitors to the area that he was not searching for a date but just for his dog!:o

My neighbors and I didn't get along at all, (no surprise there). So, He got a dog and named him my first name, Ben. He got a big kick standing out in his yard calling his dog. "Here Benny, come on Ben, you worthless mutt".

So one day some neighborhood kids were walking by tooting on plastic whistles. This seemed to drive 'Ben' nuts. Needless to say, I wasted no time getting one of those whistles.

Our houses were close beside one another on that side. My bedroom was on that side. So, early in the mornings I would open my window, give a few toots and listen to the wild barking, then the curses. In a few days, doggone.

We have three. One new puppy called 'Rosie' that hubby named after his late mum.

The two adults are Agent Fox Mulder that is registered as his pedigree name but we call him 'Mouldy'. We get some funny looks.

The other is Agent Dana Scully which ends up as 'woowoo'.:confused:

There are two dogs around here, both have been named 'Dave'. I like that :wah:

I had a Bulldog/Schitzu cross once.... It was Bullshit :wah:

It's really bizarre.. 'Dave' is really catching on here. One of the dogs i mentione is a British Bulldog and i know he cost the owner the best part of £1,500 so i was expecting some-thing regal. When they said 'Dave', i was astonished. :wah:

we recently got a new puppy, she's a collie.

now Jacob is crazy about Winnie the Pooh, so much so that all his teddy bears are now pooh bears, so when he looked over into the box at the puppy the day we got her he said Pooh Bear so that became her name, now for some reason he has begun to shorten it, now when he calls her it Poo Poo here Poo Poo!

I am not going out in public and calling a dog Poo Poo! :-5

I had a totally black cat who was rescue that died about 8 yrs ago. His name was 'Sambo' and the home said he was approx 12 yrs old when i took him. We carried on calling him this until the word 'Sambo' became not only un-politically correct but also illegal. We tried everything to change his name as he liked the outdoors which meant having to call him from the top of your voice in from the garden. He just would not answer to anything else. We tried 'sooty', 'sinny' sammie' etc and nothing. In the end Mr Oscar said 'stuff em' that's his name, he's had it all his life, it's staying'.

'Sambo' lived until he was 24 yrs old and we missed him so much. I have the memorie's of hubby yelling SAMBO out of the back door in the early hours of the morning.

Passing old ladie's would comment 'What a lovely cat, what's his name' 'eerrrr yeah, it's um um, it's um, 'Sambo' :wah::wah:
