hello grumpy here
a date for your diary
december 15th this is when the 3 evil scum who let baby p down get their come uppance.
there is also a story of an eyewitness account of baby p, s torture in the news of the world but it is to distressing to post here on the FG
BABY P’s mother broke down in court for the first time yesterday — but only after being told to expect a hefty prison sentence.
The 27-year-old, who had boasted to pals she would be “out by Christmas, had not wept once in the trial for the son she did nothing to save.
But jurors cried as they saw pictures of the horrific injuries inflicted by the tot’s stepdad, 32 — who appeared at the Old Bailey yesterday by video link from jail.
The mum wept loudly as Judge Stephen Kramer said: “A substantial term of imprisonment is the likely outcome.
The pair were remanded in custody until December 15 with paedophile lodger Jason Owen, 36, who also stood by as the tot was tortured. All three were convicted this week of allowing Baby P to die. Judge Kramer has ordered reports before sentencing.
In a statement yesterday the baby’s natural father said of his boy: “I loved him deeply. I remember he used to bounce up and down in his pram until I took him out, giving me hugs and kisses. The verdicts will help to bring closure.

Andy, is there the slightest reason why you can't keep all this material in the same thread instead of starting a new one every time you post?

Andy also needs to check out all the threads. I put a thread on 'Current affair's' last night with a link showing baby P's face when the mother covered his injurie's with chocolate spread for a social worker visit.
I also put a thread on about baby P and the social workers a few days back which Andy posted on and brought up the Jamie Bulger killers. We had a thread already running from Touchstone on Jamie Bulger and when i answered Andy, i said that Spot and i had debated the Bulger killers long and hard on another thread.
If i'm putting a thread on, i do check that no-one else has done the same topic or if it's the same story, i check no-one has linked the recent development.
It just gets so confusing.

It just gets so confusing.I agree totally and sometimes we merge the threads. If you ever feel a thread is being repeated and it is confusing please contact one of us and we will look into it.Also hopefully now this matter has been pointed out to Andy he will indeed check the above out first Oscar.

I don't want to sound as if i'm being mean to Andy but when there are several threads of the same topic, some people won't post because they are simply repeating what they have already said on another thread.
I think also in the threads of a very disturbing case such as Jamie Bulger or baby P, it is far better to add a link. If members feel that it's too distressing to look at, they have the choice not to click on the link. I often do this in cases of animal cruelty because i just don't want the details.

Again I agree Oscar as I don't like opening a thread up to read all the nasty details. However we can't dictate to how members post and all we can do is hope that some thought is put into what you have said above. And again I urge you to report if you indeed do spot several threads about the same subject as members indeed do not like repeating themselves and one thread about the issue in question makes a far better debate as you will appreciate.

True. If we let you know there are repeated threads, you can link them and it's far better to have more people debating one thread and recent developments in a trial than two different people debating the same on several threads.

allow me to explain abbey how the AA grumpy column works .
i trawl the news to find a debateable subject and copy and paste it into the FG for members to chew on.
its like a daily or bi daily news column for the FG members so it would not be viable to trawl the home pages first.
i also have no problem with the mods merging threads.
i hope this clarifies the purpose of the column

There's a convenient button labelled "My Topics" especially designed for exactly what you're doing. It brings up your topic threads from which you can then select the right one and add more posts to it. Press it and see.

So you dont bother Andy to check at all if the subect you want to put on here isn't already being discussed which would make it better for the members keeping the topic to one thread and not confusing people....if this is the case dont you think thats abit selfish and makes it confusing for the members and also what if many others did this?Abbey is right you can check.... which would take minutes to see if the topic is already being discussed.Surely you dont want us lot to be at your backside all the time.
....try what Spot has said:)

I second that. One of the things that got to me was that if his abuse was not bad enough, the little mite had his head shaved beacause he was always crawling with lice.
I know all kids get nits but i thought lice went out with the plague. How disgusting for a baby?

I said in another post on a thread on this case that it makes you ashamed that your country in this day and age, to allow this kind of thing.
They have apparently sent in a sqad to look at Haringay social services and they claim it's a mess.
Hopefully they will sack those seniors that are responsibe for it.

I read yeasterday that Ed Balls had sent in a team to Haringay soccial services and found chaos. Stacks of cases piled high on desks etc.
I don't believe the arrogance of the head, Sharon Shoesmith. Even her family are calling for her resignation and have joined the Sun's petition.
If they do sack her, she will be able to claim compensation and one paper said she could get as much as £200,000. If she does, it will be blood money.
I also saw yesterday that police had put up a little gravestone for baby P where he was laid to rest.
Seems like not all police are bastards then?

Say no more Carolly, nudge nudge wink wink.
I don't see why she can't be tried for 'Allowing the death of a child'?
The mother, partner and the lodger are all blaming each other so even if one of them is completely innocent of actually harming him, they watched and did not intervene. They have been charged with 'Allowing the death of a child' even if they didn't physically touch him so why can't she?
If she is tried by a jury all the evidence of cover up's will come out. A jury can decide at what time they should have intervened and if by not doing so, it contributed to his death.
if it happens, i hope i'm on the jury.

A jury can decide at what time they should have intervened and if by not doing so, it contributed to his death.
if it happens, i hope i'm on the jury.Sometimes the law is an arse as I feel it is now regarding this matter and of course there all to blame fgs and that includes the idiots who could have prevented that baby being tortured to death .Just hope they can sleep at night and not see those big blue eyes looking at them and saying..........why??

Say no more Carolly, nudge nudge wink wink.

I don't see why she can't be tried for 'Allowing the death of a child'?

The lodger confessed to mates that he and a friend 'tortured some-one and it went a bit far'
Me and a friend tortured someone ... we went a bit far | The Sun |News
Nice to read that the mother has had to be segregated in 'Holloway' Prison after death threats from other inmates. It's not good to read she's on 'suicide watch'.
That's the easy way out... let the bitch rot in jail for years at the mercy of those fellow inmates. Brilliant.. Now let's see Sharon Shoesmith, head of social services in the same boat???

I agree. The only reason i keep scanning the papers on this story is for the news that Sharon Shoesmith has a least been sacked.
I like the idea one guy had in Haringay. he put a sign up on the door of the council offices telling residents of Haringay not to pay their council tax until she's booted out. yhey can't prosecute all of them so i wish they do it.

I think the initial government probe is under way just due to Ed Balls sending his team in. Gordon Brown did say there would be an equirey but as we know Investigations can sometimes take months
