Well here I am now at the heaviest I have ever been and I'm feeling pretty down on myself, but I have been offered what I'd consider a lifeline, my Doctor applied for funding for me to have a gastric bypass, the funding has been approved and I have passed the pyschatrists evaluation and just waiting to see dietician. Now this is all well and good but I am really wondering if this is the only option for me.
I have many allergies and have problems with pain relief and anthestic, I started a diet when I went into hospital and have lost half a stone but I think that was more down to feeling so rough I wouldn't eat

I really dont feel that I have the strength and longevity to see through an 8 stone weight loss.
So what seemed like an answer to my prayers has now become another thing to worry and obsess about :-5
SO guys I would love to know your views
Considering that your weight gain is due to PTSD and a craving for food, as opposed to a physiological problem, I would under no circumstances consider a Gastric Bypass and I am surprised that a doc would even consider doing the surgery with all the potential post op problems.
I would seek the help of first of a psychologist specializing in behavior modification (perhaps through hypnosis). Secondly, a psychiatrist specializing in same.
What ever you decide-----------good luck.
