I hear ya, Raven. I'm sure, though, that the recipients of your packages will be happy that you sent them. :)

I have a problem, however, with folks interchanging the term "Christmas" with "gifts". For example, when I hear folks say, "We won't have a good Christmas this year" because there won't be alot of gifts under the tree.

What is the true cost of Christmas? The change of our daily routine? Visiting folks we usually hardly see? Feeling bad because we can't afford to buy everyone a fabulous gift?

Let us remember that Christmas is just another annual holiday. It can be a beautiful celebration with family and friends. The decorations, the music, the gifts, are the "icing on the cake." The wonderful extras. But they are optional. They are not required to have a wonderful and meaningful Christmas. Sharing special moments with others.......that's Christmas. IMO

oh am with you there! When sending gifts to the UK each year, it costs us more than the gifts did!:lips:

couldn't sent gift certificates either......don't have same stores there where I had to send them to!:-5

If we sent a cheque, it costs them more to cash it!:sneaky:

That's what I do. I tell everyone to get me nothing because I'm giving nothing. So they give me stuff anyway. Why? To make me feel guilty? :p

When I'm buying for someone in, for example, the US, I get it from a local US retailer. It's a quicker delivery too. I agree you don't get to see what you're buying and if it's silk delicates you might not get what you were hoping for.

Spot, should I let you know my address so you know where to send my present? You were talking about the US, I assumed you meant me. Just please don't send me a book on politics just so we can duke it out on the threads!!:yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl
