Contact Lenses.

Post by CARLA »

That's funny I was researching Contant Lenses last night. I'm thinking about them also. I wear no line tri-focals now and what that in a contact lense. Wasn't sure they had it, but they do. :yh_glasse (no more of these).

How impulsive is that.

Just happened to see free eye tests as i was walking to the dairy products, stopped for a little nose and the next thing you know i was sat in the chair with my glasses back in their box and having lenses fitted.

I have a weeks free trial, if i like them i will go back next Sunday and finalise the deal.

Must admit its nice not having to look for my glasses every time i put them down. Strange feeling at the moment without them though.

I have to decide on daily, weekly or monthly lenses, any experience with them amongst you wise and wonderful lot. Pros and cons if you please.:D

They're great! Just wish I could afford them. :wah:

So you've had these lenses in since this afternoon? Did you not have to do just an hours trial then take them out just incase you had any adverse reactions?

I've had the monthly lenses in the past, cheapest option :D. I did switch to the weekly ones for a while but kept finding I would rip them in half by accident, they are a lot thinner than the monthly ones.

You get far better vision with contacts than your glasses will ever give you and you won't steam up everytime you walk into a warm room ;) although you will notice your eyes drying out.

Eyes are getting a little red now from all the playing and rubbing i have been doing but i am really happy with them up to now. He said it will feel a little strange to start with but i will get used to them.

The monthly ones at Tesco only cost about £25 every three months, the cost of my glasses works out at more than that.:)

Thats cheap, I think the monthlies were costing me around £60, that included all solutions and three monthly eye checks.

Try and build up your usage of them, and take a break from them once a week if you can. I always wore mine out and removed them at teatime if i knew I was in for the evening, just to give my eyes a rest from them.

Daily if your prescription is one that will allow you to. I need monthly because of my prescription but would have preferred dailies. Especially good of you do any sports, no more being unable to see because of misted up specs.

Daily are better if you can afford it, and there's less risk of infection. I was always advised that if you got used to wearing the daily ones and then needed to go back to monthly it's not an easy transition to make as the monthly ones are thicker.
