While in Hawaii I went to Punchbowl, National Cemetary, appointed due to WWII.

Awesome site, 111 acres, actually a Crater formed from volcanic activity @ 100 yrs. ago.

The Cemetary sits high above the city of Honolulu - it's a hike up & then some..

Actually read a headstone "Served in WWI" "Served in WWII"

I Thank You

The youngest veteran of World War II would be eighty. One of our members, Randall, was in the Merchant Marine during World War Two which in Britain is an equivalent honour. I don't know of any others who've posted.

Most of my kin got here at the tail end of the civil war, else it woulda ended different. Lol. My mom's side of family suffered two severely wounded in WW1. More of us was in WW2 but no one was hurt. One of my sons took a bit of schrapnel in Iraq but he's outa there now. Some kin still live in the Czech republic. Some of their family members fought in the Czech underground against the nazis.

In wartime, everyone is a warrior.
