Ah, but I would go back to my city, Los Angeles. My home there is a quarter mile from the foothills, so very pretty in the springtime. The desert winds blow in warmth and laughter, and here is not home to me. It is very pretty too, but the winters are hard on me.

There is a alternative-----------it's called the suburbs --------something between where you live and the city, with lakes, parks, hills etc., even ocean.

suburbs to me Lon is the city .

City to me is concrete, asphalt, no grass, no trees, noise, pollution, too many people.

fuzzy butt,

Those pictures are fantastic. What a wonderful spot you have chosen for yourself.

Any realtor will tell you when buying a home, you must consider three things:

Location, location, location.

However, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and many other factors might have to go into the decision making of where one lives. Be glad, be very, very glad that not everyone thinks as you do as this Eden of yours would not be as pristine as it appears now.

For me, I love trees and shade and hills and valleys. People also think we are crazy to live on top of a cliff, but we love it and we will stay here as long as we are able. Which means we will keep replacing transmissions in our vehicles and continue walking up the hill with our groceries when the snow is too deep.

So, I guess, from personal experience, I can truely say: Beauty!

I'll post some others in a day or two, but the attached pic was taken yesterday from my bother-in-laws deck.
