We all have hero's in life, some famous, some close to us such as our parents.
As i sat here tonight watching video's on u-tube of my own hero, it dawned on me that we must all have them.
Muscicians, writers, film stars or war Generals, we all have one.
Who is your hero? Why? What have they done for you? How have they inspired you?
For me, i have many that i admire in my life but i thought tonight, what if i had to choose just one??
There could be no argument. A man i have followed in his band for over 30 years.
Music critics describe him as the greatest bass guitarist of all time and some say the greatest stage presence of all time.
For me it has to be 'Jean Jaques Burnel'.
My apologies as i have posted this link before but it was the greatest performance i ever saw them do.
My hero is on bass guitar on the far left.

Another one of em's my good budy GunZ who some of you have met, or at least exchanged a few posts with. For all his flaws, (trust me, give him whiskey and he'd tell you each on of them) his heart is right, the man laid down his body as a human shield for me, more than once. If you ask him why, he'd tell ya, cuz you got a family bud, and I don't.
Ya know' I kinda look up to my boy Hoss too, he's as good a hero as most.
Your boy's a good lad Jester. We had some pm's while you were away and i'm delighted that he found a great girl in Fireangel.
I can imagine that when you have shared real war and shared it with your buddie's that is a bond for for life. I can understand that seeing the bonds between our old war vets here in my town. They would still lay their lives down for each other, i know they would.

My hero is/was my grandma. She had a hard life, but was the most giving person I've ever known. She was also one of the most talented seamstress and cooks too. She passed away when I was 19. I still miss her to this day!

Has to be Homer Simpson. He has a good job in a power plant, has a great wife, fun kids, some cool friends and likes beer. Or Hank Hill. Either one.

Im not much into hero worship but if it had to be anyone then my mum..
After my father left she raised 4 children aged between 18 months and 8 years, we always had food and clean clothes. we went to school and all passed at least some exams , we all work and none of us have a criminal record.
She did all this on disgustingly low benefits, ( they even made her sell our dog) and never made us feel we missed out on anything.
She didn't whine or moan but just got on with it best she could.

Ludwig Hi Ludwig.. Brillinat track and now available i see as a bonus track on 'Rattus'.
I read your reply on 'Stranglers Fans' and you either work for the 'SIS' or 'Strangled' as you know a lot more than the average fan. Since i wrote the last post, i got some photo's of that 'Nance' gig out and your right, it had to be earlier than 87 because of my age in the pic's. It was nearly 30 years ago and much alcohol used to be consumed on our travels, so my apologie's. I'm thinking, it must have been 82, if your able to check tour dates for that year or as soon as my brother gets back from Christmas hols, he will remember exactly.
I also have to go to work now to give that gorgeous Gordon Brown some more lovely income tax but will log on around midnight tonight.
Hope you had a great Christmas as i did. Have you seen the new mugs on Strangllers merchandise?
Chat later .... Go Buddy Go,
Oscar
