That is very interesting. Things make better sense to me now that I know the origin of this practice.

I remember when I first got dental insurance (through my employer). I didn't understand how the insurance company would pay for me to get my teeth cleaned and x-rayed. I remember talking to my dentist about it. I thought I was somehow cheating someone. It did not feel right to me.

Now look where we are. If it isn't covered as much as we thing it should be, we think we are being short changed.
