just wondered if anyone recieved any unusual or jaw rubbingly surprising gifts this Christmas?. a mate of mine was given an anvil by his ancient great aunt, you know, one of those great big heavy things for hammering metal into shape and he hasn't a clue why (he's a greengrocer).apparently he just said "aww that's lovely"

Great thread. I got what i wanted but also got a pair of those headphones that you can use in another room of the house. In fact they work in the garden as well i have found.
Mr Oscar doesn't mind the Stranglers for several hours at a time as he's very used to that but it's when i have my 'Verve' moments. Mr O describes the 'verve as 'music to kill yourself by'. The 'Verve' have been known to even drive him out of the house. The volume control is not very loud but a good set of earphones non the less.

I got an ipod shuffle and an ipod nano... either of those would have been great except i bought a shuffle last summer for when i started exercising again, so of course it's hardly ever been used...
the nano is pink or i would donate it to the church for a drawing in sunday school ... don't think the boys would care for it much..
I am the least pink person i know... what were they thinking anyways?:-2
Is there a big thing with ipods lately that I've missed? I normally get books and slippers... that kinda stuff.. so it struck me as odd that I got two of these and they were both from folks i expected nothing from...

I expressly forbid the use of any of my posts anywhere outside of FG (with the exception of the incredibly witty 'get a room already' )posted recently.

I love the verve! Bittersweet Symphony is my absolute fave! And yes, I crank it up when it's on the radio.:wah:
