According to this article they are only bombing Gaza in retaliation for the escalation of the rocket attacks from them.

I don't see where Israel can ever not protect and defend their homeland. The minute they would appear weak, they will be annilalated.

I, for one, greatly Like and admire the Jewish people.

It's pretty sure that without the backing of America and Britain, Isreal would have suffered far worse over the years. This country will be a thorn in any peace negotitations for many years to come.

I would like to see them up their defence and stop relying on the rest of the world to protect them.

The monkey sat on a pile of stone

And he stared at the broken bone in his hand

Strains of a Viennese quartet rang out across the land

The monkey looked up at the stars

And he thought to himself

Memory is a stranger

History is for fools

And he cleaned his hands in a pool of holy writing

Turned his back on the garden and set out for the nearest town

Hold on hold on soldier

When you add it all up

The tears and the marrowbone

There's an ounce of gold

And an ounce of pride in each ledgers

And the Germans kill the Jews

And the Jews kill the Arabs

And the Arabs kill the hostages

And that is the news

And is it any wonder that the monkey's confused

He said Mama Mama, the President's a fool

Why do I have to keep reading these technical manuals

And the joint chiefs of staff

And the brokers on Wall Street said

Don't make us laugh, you're a smart kid

Time is linear

Memory's a stranger

History is for fools

Man is a tool in the hands

Of the great God Almighty

And they gave him command of a nuclear submarine

Sent him back in search of the Garden of Eden

Kindle I take it you do not know much about the history of Israel since 1948. I don't really have anything against the average Jewish person, the radicals and the Israeli government are a different matter.

Israel doesn't have a right to exist in my view. They aren't worthy to exist as a nation.

Haven't Israel already admitted that they have taken land from Gazza illegally?

Your right, this is going to be the mother of all massacre's if they invade by land.

As i said earlier, i am worried the US and British will get drawn into it and we'll have another Vietnam or Iraq. Israel will expect US backing as well.

Yes, but i don't think it's enough to see them through their own war. It's only a matter of time before they call upon America and Britain. That seriously worrie's me.

There were riots in London today over the Israel'i attack and it looks like Gordon Brown will back Israel as i believe America will. I just wish they'd leave them to get on with it. Yes, innocent people will get hurt as in any war but i don't want another Iraq.

By contrast, nobody in Israel has died of rocket attacks in at least the last six months. Who exactly runs Israeli foreign policy, the Israeli government or Hamas? Does the Israeli government have a choice in whether to bomb the Gaza Strip or not? I think it has an option not to and bombs from choice.

Proportionality of response is one of the tests of whether the Israelis have a reasonable government or an oppressive regime killing defenceless Palestinians whenever they feel like it. The Parestinians are defenseless because they have no tanks, they have no helicopters, they have no fighter aircraft, they no anti-airfraft defences, they just have to sit there and take whatever their implacable occupiers choose to do to them.

The only people capable of bringing the killings to an end are in the American administration, it's their foreign aid which funds the killings. Something over a hundred billion dollars so far and running at over three billion dollars every year. That's a lot of bombs.

Disproportionate responses, that's what we're looking at. One dead Israeli, three hundred dead Palestinians. What's missing is justice, what's missing is a police response to a criminal matter.

The Israeli constitution and legal framework has to be made transparent to race and ethnicity. South African apartheid was eventually repealed, America's segregationist laws were eventually repealed, the same solution's required in Israel.

Scrat;1095457 wrote: I don't Know what is going to happen with Iran and Israel. Suffice to say that Israel will pay a steep price all around for doing it. So will the US. We can barely handle Iraq and Afghanistan now. If we are. The easiest thing for Israel to do and most practical is for Israeli aircraft to use American carriers or Iraqi airfields to use as a stopover to attack Iran. This would surely be noticed by the Iraqi populace. That would not be good.

The main reason we have supported Israel over the years is the strategic location. It's a perfect place to build up a huge army and invade the greater ME if we ever have to. It's a beachhead if we ever need it. Put that in with the fact that the Jewish community here in America are very politically active and basically own the lions share of politicians Israel can basically do as she pleases. Why does Russia back Iran and Syria? To keep the balance of power in the ME.

Russia may sell the S-300 Triumph missile system to Iran. In the right hands that system is deadly. Iran would be a no fly zone for the US or anyone for that matter. That's another subject.

Gordon Brown seems to be slow in condeming Israel although 'Milliband' has called for a cease-fire. Yeah, we've done that before. Now is the time to show Israel that we are sick of them acting the bully boys of the ME.

I would enjoy seeing British go in and destroy all Israeli military bases but that will never happen and can't can it?

I agree with Spot.. it's all about proportion. If the bully in the playground punches you on the nose, you don't wipe out his entire family and try to justify it.

I think Scrat is also bang on when he says that the Jews control a large proportion of American polititians and it comes down to the Dollar.

Hamas do not have the military capabilities for a land invasion and i can see nothing but a blood-bath. Our leaders can not let this happen and have to act now.

If the Israeli's are justifying their murder on 'locating Hamas tunnels', then is it not what Intelligence is for? We seem to manage here with anti-terrorism intelligence and capture terrorists before they have chance to strike.
