Kauto Star brings relief to credit crunched punters and smashes the bookie's.
The fantastic 'Kauto Star' put a smile on credit crunched racing fans and smashed the bookie's when fans backed him down to 10-11 favourite.
I had the ultimate pleasure of watching this beautiful jumper beaten into 2nd last year by 'Denman' at the Cheltenham Gold Cup.
Kauto Star took The King George V1 stakes at kempton by an astonishing 8 lengths for the 3rd time. However, yet again kauto Star had to produce his own great escape--- not the film always seen at this season but his heart stopping final fence blunder. He 'paddled' through the last fence but jockey 'Ruby Walsh' clung on for dear life.
Next year he will he will bid to match 'Desert Orchid's' four triumphs.
His owner 'Clive Smith' announced that kauto Star will now definately not run until the Cheltenham Gold Cup in march where he will meet his rival 'Denman' again. 'Clive Smith' added, 'if we get good ground, we'll get him'
I for one will be there cheering Kauto Star on.

I only have a few bets a year but i had to bet big on him because the odds were so short although i did get 5-4 anti-post.
The bookie's were dreading this horse coming in and they got a pounding.
He 's going to run in march at The Cheltenham Gold Cup so i'll be working there anyway and get to see him again.

Exclusive jumper but i'd love to see him go international.
When i saw him run in The Gold Cup this year, i wasn't very close to him but he's an absolute beauty. Solid muscle. :-4

I'm going to put a thread on him in March for the Gold cup. His rival 'Denman' beat him into 2nd last year so 'Kauto' shouldn't be the favourite, that means we'll get better odds. Definately worth a punt.

Let's hope Kauto learns not to fluff the final fence. I can't take another bowel turning moment like that.

Naturally!!!:yh_rotfl
I'm usually stuck behind a counter stuffing money in a till for my brother but he's very good and always let's me nip off to the balcony for the big races. (and a cigg)
It's quite funny.. Mr O has just said that i've turned into Spot. :yh_rotfl
I just googled something about horse-racing and accidently found a racing forum.
There is a thread where a horse was mentioned from 1978, thirty years ago. They were talking about this horse and i thought, 'that's not right', they have their facts wrong. Naturally, i have just had to register on the forum just to be smug and put them straight. :wah:
I adore being at the races but i had the mis-fortune of being at the fence when 'Alverton' fell in the Gold Cup and was shot. Absolutely awful and a memory i never want to see again.
When Kauto Star runs in the Gold cup in March, he will have his work cut out to beat 'Denman'. However, as his owner says, if the ground is not too heavy and Kauto jumps well, he can take him. Also watch out for a horse for a place bet in the Gold Cup called 'Paddytheplasterer' if he runs. he's due a big race and win.
