I don't see what's wrong with it. I know Mr Oscar refused to ever walk Puppy Rosie again if i insisted on putting her in that pink roll neck sweater with her pink diamantee collar and pink lead but it shows the dog is well cared for.

Exactly!!!

Anyone going to the expense of buying their puppy a diamantee collar such as my-self as an example.. is hardly going to go on and abuse her. It's a sign that the dog is loved and love lavished on it.

Mind you, i've seen some fecking stupid outfits on dogs. :wah:

We had one very similar where kids tied up a dog, poured petrol over him and set him on fire. He recovered thanks to the PDSA in Bristol but how can people be so heartless?

I think the RSPCA should be using money to combat cruelty not persecute owners who love their dogs.

Good idea. Here, any animal charity such as the RSPCA carries out two home checks and various rigorous testing. It's the people who have puppie's and sell them to anyone off the street that do the harm.

My neighbors across the street had a puppie back in the summer and it was never on a leash, they made it stay out all night in the rain too. The poor pup was killed when it ran in the street one day.:-1

I got into a right row some years ago. I sold a pup at discount to a near neighbour. I thought i knew her and i tried to educate her into the pups needs as it was the first pup they had had.

A week after she went to her new home, another neighbour knocked on my door and told me the pup was being shut out in the rain from 6 am onwards.

The next morning i went down there and sure enough she was crying her heart out on the back step, shut out. I climbed over the wall and stole her back.

:(:(

She got a lovely new home though and is very happy. :-6

My niece just reported the neighbors to an animal rights organization for doing the same thing. Another friend has a neighbor who does the same thing...leaving the dog out all night long and everyone has to hear it bawling:mad:. She finally called the borough and they took care of it.

Actually I don't know what the borough did but the dog is not out all night long anymore. The borough next to us is very strict with homeowners. Ours is lamo.

certain ones here should have coats on their dogs in this weather and limit their walks to 5 minutes, their paws are freezing walking on the ice and snow!:-5:-5

The only time I dress up either of my dogs is on Halloween. My Chow is a princess...My Great Pyrenees, well, he goes as himself since we can't find any costume big enough for him.

Mulder is a Pedigree 'Parson Russell Terrier'. When he was redistered with the kennel Club he was registered as 'Jagen Agent Fox Mulder'.

Scully is a parson cross.

Yes they are Bryn, except here they've changed it to Great Pyrenees. On that link, mine looks a lot like the 3rd one. They are known as "The Gentle Giants" and for all great reasons. I've never had a bond with a dog like I do with my Cody. He gives hugs when asked, or he gives hugs if he wants attention. I've never met a sweeter dog. :-4

I was walking mine in a park one night as it was getting dark. A black Pyrenee suddenly appeared from behind a tree and i swear it was a small horse. It frightened the life out of me. :yh_rotfl

You must need a wheelbarrow instead of a doggie poo bag though!!!!!!!!!:(:(

Yeah, they can initially scare the daylights out of anyone that aren't sure of what they are...but I never worry about someone trying to come in the house once they see him and our Chow. What's cool with Cody is that I don't hafta bend at all and can pet his back.

Fortunately our back yard is fenced so I don't hafta take him for walks and he can just poo out back. When we clean up the yard we do use their 20lb dog food bags cuz they are reinforced. If anyone visits and we are outside, I always warn them to be on the lookout for land mines!! :yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl

I can identify the bending down part. All my adult life i had big dogs, german shepherds etc and then i went for a breed that stands 14 inches high with a lot of bending down.

My doggie poo is rabbit pellets compared to yours :yh_rotfl

If were out in a field and they run ahead and have a poo... I've got my eye on it but by the time i reached it.... it's lost :yh_rotfl

When we first got Rosie recently, a approx 12 wk old little Jack Russell, she was soooo tiny and hasn't got that much bigger. We were terrified of treading on her as our persian cat gets trodden on regually. I have nearly sat on her so many times as well. That's a Jack...... I don't know how peeps coped with a Yorkie Terier pup???

I've met a couple and they were the most lovable dogs you could imagine - just need a big house and a big budget to keep them :-6

You are so right about the lovable part, but at the same time they are very protective. If my Cody is snuggling with his momma (me:)) on the bed and my hubby starts messing with him at all, Cody will growl and snap at him. I never worry with my baby around.
