The Collected Voice Has Power

Two more of President Obama's nominees bit the dust today.

Nancy Killefer withdrew her nomination after her failure to pay taxes on household help for the last year and a half was exposed.

And Tom Daschle withdrew his nomination after the mighty uproar from the American people and the nagging questions from the press.

All this, despite the fact that POTUS still stood behind them.

One Congressman said the following:

The Dems have no problem raising taxes cause they don't pay them anyway.

Yes. Their vetting process does seem to lack a bit of thoroughness.

At least the peeps he nominated had EXPERIENCE which I can't say the same about GW's picks. C'mon, Harriet Myers for Supreme Court, oh and let's not forget his picks for Health & Human Services where they tried to ram through such great laws against women getting basic care such as birth control, etc. My fave was Alberto Gonsalez...now we are talking about the biggest arsehole Bush rammed through Congress! Oh and his picks for the Supreme Court really merit critical thinking...yeah right! Two morons.

Didn't work with Timothy Geithner.

I guess his "I'm sorry" was more sincere.

At least Obama's appointees actually said the word "sorry" unlike Bush's who only tried getting out of numerous lies (Iraq war ring a bell?). They never apologized to the public.:-5

At least in America people actually seem to resign when they have a conflict of interest.

I wish some Irish politicians would take the example. Anyway, if they didn't pay their taxes, or did something improper they should resign.

If the Administration is going to have any chance of dealing with the issues that confront it, the people need to have some basic confidence in its senior members, so its a good thing they are gone.

Anyway, get back to sorting out your economy along with the rest of us, and re-establishing basic trust in the Capitalist system, the world is going to hell in a hand basket.

Seriously.

Yes, the same thing is happening here, but we have no option of having a stimulus package of any sort, just cuts and more borrowing to keep going. The economy is collapsing and people are getting very, very angry. I am afraid, we are looking at a bleak situation at the moment. This is not going to be very good year for a lot of people.
