A Thankyou to FG members (well sort of)
As you will probably have noticed, I have been spending rather a lot of time on here of late.
It is not uncommon for whingers to get right up my chuff so i shall try not to whinge.
The past few months have been pretty awful here in Oscar Towers. It started with plasterers, then plumbers, then electricians, then kitchen and bathroom fitters, then painters blah blah blah. It seems to have gone on for-ever. My possessions have been in boxes for months and i can't find anything which on occassions included the cat.
As some will know, this co-incided with a battle with legalities and hearing that my husband's illness has returned. Over the past few weeks, he has not been too bright with various chest infections etc as his immune system is so low. He does not sleep which means i can not sleep. When he does sleep, i have to be quiet which is difficult for some-one of my nature.
I feel as though i have been confined to barracks for months now. One of us has to always be here for when workman arrive at various times of the day and ensuring 3 dogs do not get up their chuff also. I also do not like to go out if Mr O is feeling off colour. I am shunted from room to room depending on which workman wants to get where or if Mr O feels he needs to take a nap which is quite regually of late. I miss one of the greatest passions of my life which is being on a race-course with my Bro who has had a great deal of race meetings called off anyway due to the weather and that also gets right up his chuff.
The work on the house is finally nearing the end. Now the fun part starts........SHOPPING for soft furnishings which is after i have had to clean everything i own thanks to brick dust.
As i always try to look on the bright side of life..... We will know very soon if my husbands illness can be contained or weather it will require surgery. The bad weather has gone and racing is resumed. The Cheltenham Gold Cup is due in March and my bank balance will be on 'Kauto Star'. I've had the arrival of 'Mistle Thrush' who seem to be nesting, my lawyer is working hard, I am soon to be a great aunt again, I've cashed in a policy, Gordon Brown is my Prime Minister :sneaky: and life hopefully will return to some normality very shortly.
Now, I've probably got right up your chuff hogging your threads of late but the reason for this thread, is to say THANKYOU TO EVERYONE OF YOU who has debated with me, amused me and that even includes the one's who have got right up my chuff at times. I know i have been grumpy at times so forgive me to those who's chuff i have managed to get up.
Thankyou,
JULIE

OMG..... The teens in my family do come out with some stuff that i look sideways at sometimes. They have been using this infront of their parents so i thought it must be innocent enough.
I had to find out where 'You are soooooo lame....'take the shame' came from.
Oh well, at least it has some other meanings :wah::wah:

The bookies will have already started backing our boys odds down now that bit of news is officially out.
Our boy was pulled from racing after his triple win in the King George 1V stakes at ascot last year to rest up for the re-match with 'Denman' at Cheltenham. he looked 'well fierce on tv just now.
If you didn't get your bet on to get the highest odds, your better off now doing a 'reversed Fore-cast' at the bookies on the Tote. ask for 'Kauto Star' and 'Denman' in either order.
I'm going to be at Cheltenham for The Gold Cup to see him :-4

If you have any relatives in England you must tell them to bet on this horse, 'Kauto Star'. I love horse -racing with a passion anyway but this one is a real superstar and hopefully next year as well he will equal 'Desert Orchids' record of four consecutive wins in the King George sixth stakes at Ascot. I have tried starting a thread on horse racing but it appears we don't have any members that feel like-wise. I love it when two horses are each others absolute rivals and clash in the racing calender. Last year 'Kauto Star' was beaten by his arch rival 'Denman' in the Gold Cup' and i was there to see it. 'Denman' has been favourite on odds with the bookie's for this years re-match although my brother, a bookie, said that 'Kauto' was the one bookies feared. If he came in, he would be at higher odds than 'Denman' costing the bookies a massive payout. But on tv yesterday they said 'Denman' had been found to be suffering from a heart murmer and 'Kauto' was fighting fit after being rested up since his third win in the King George Sixth stakes last year. I did some googling today and i see this news must have got out as 'Kauto' has now been backed down to favourite. I must warn anyone putting money on 'Kauto' that he is a fine jumper but has in the past given us all heart failure when he has fluffed the last fence. In the KG race last year made a horrific blunder on the last fence and literally 'Paddled' through it but made a heart stopping recovery to go on to win. I don't actually bet on the horses all the time, i wait for the big one and tend to put more money then. All the racing press are reporting that this race on Friday 13th March is the mother of all re-matches. 'Denman' will be out to keep his title and 'Kauto' wants revenge. So glad i will be there to see it.
Denman and Kauto Star last year.
