Has anyone read the article in Time Magazine, A Brief History of Cybercrime? They published after President Obama announced that he will name a White House-level czar to coordinate government efforts to fight cybercrime. It gives details on cyberattacks that have happened in recent years and I thought it was really interesting.
McAfee has been working to educate people on the dangers of cybercrime through their Stop H*Commerce campaign and web documentary. I've been doing some work with them and it's amazing how simple it is for a hacker to gain access to personal information. Has anyone seen the videos?

Hahaha, no... it's more to make people aware that cybercrimes can happen to anyone and how to protect their home computer networks. Take a look at the videos if you get a chance - it's really interesting/crazy to see what types of scams and cybercrimes occur.

I put up a thread last year at http://www.forumgarden.com/forums/compu ... urity.html which covers online cybercrime in the second half of the opening post. I'm not sure whether it makes clear my opinion that nothing put onto a computer is ever safe from being seen by a determined and sufficiently knowledgeable intruder but it was meant to be implied at least, I'm sure it's true.

Thanks for sharing this thread! You have a lot of interesting info posted there and it's a great educational tool for people to see the different ways they can be scammed. Did you get a chance to watch any of the videos from Stop H*Commerce? They also go into detail on how cybercrimes are executed - it's pretty powerful!
