wish we had magpies. Oh I forgot,,,, I get Wrens also.

I would love to see Bluejays, they are beautiful. And Cardinals. I'm going to have to google Chick-a-dee's as I've not heard of them before.

Magpies are one of my favourite birds but unfortunately, they are extremely destructive and will raid other birds nests. I buy Sultana's for them which they love.

I love watching the baby wrens when the mothers feeds them, the are so puffed up and cute.

Chick-a-dee is smaller than a sparrow with a bit of black on them....when they sing in the trees, that's exactly how they sound....chick a dee dee dee, chick a dee dee dee........to cute.

good thing we don't have magpies, some of our blackbirds are horrible, they attack the sparrows.:-5:-5

Wood Pigeon

Blackbird

Robin

Great Tit

Blue Tit

House Sparrow

Tree Sparrow

Goldfinch

Parakeet

Jackdaw

We have Kestrels and Sparrowhawk in the area, but they've never landed in my garden. Ditto Herring Gull and what I've always thought were Black Headed Gulls, but might be Mediterranean. Oh, and the occasional Heron.
The crowd: "Yes! We are all individuals!"

A suggestion that may help you to get birds nesting in your garden.

My brother has a massive garden in Sussex but most of It when he moved in was unsuitable for birds due to veg gardens and concrete etc. He took one one small area of the garden, bought a fairly cheap rose arch and created a very small secluded spot by planting up the bushes I mentioned in the other thread. He planted climbers like Virginia Creeper to cover the arch so It gives the entrance the concept of seclusion. The birds soon took to It and this year he had Blue Tits nesting In there. Just a thought

I would never eat kangaroo,never.

Not because it is our National Emblem but because I have seen whats inside.

I could post a pic but don't want to disturb those who have eaten it;):lips:

Wow. You've got a lot of tits over there, Mrs. Oscar. :wah:

It would probably be easier for me to list what birds I don't have in my garden.

Kookaburras have those long beaks I believe?

We see Cockateals here all the time in the country. They shouldn't be here but they have bred very successfully over the past 10 years here.

I guess he just likes exotic birds. I live in a rural area and once in a while his guineas will take a trip through the mesquite, laurels, palms, etc. and find a way through or around the fence and come to see what I'm putting out for "my" birds. :wah: They can fly too. One morning I saw a couple beneath one of my feeders, inside the fence, when I let my dog out. Porky saw them too and being part fox, part Chow and a very fast dog she tore across the yard but the birds flew over the fence and then stood on the other side, taunting her. They seemed to sense that she couldn't get to them. Porky proceded to try to dig a tunnel under the fence.:-6
