Is this yet another more serious virus on the move?

40,000 take ill, 30 dead so far.

Yes, this virus outbreak in the Ukraine sounds very worrying. I read that one person had a post mortem and his lungs were black. After googling, it sounds as if it could be the Pneumonic plague! I hope it gets contained.

I think the biggest problem was the people and their reliance on home remedies. A lot of people who at first merely had the flu worsened to the point of life threatening respiratory infections.

Couple this with the poor state of the the medical system and country in general and you have a bad brew. Apparently it was not of plague proportions but larger than normal amount of people died.

According to my friend in Gomel A only 2 people have died and it is dying out there. His whole family had it and they were miserable.

Good information, the only question I have is what media hype? I have not seen this in the news at all. The hype is coming from the internet and the fact that there has been no media coverage.
