The government there seems a bit odd. They started a war with Russia a while back (2008), then tried to act like they were the victims.

No surprise really after the complete kicking they got from Russia a couple of years ago. They are lucky still to be an independent country at all.

And just how exactly, is this different from the new 'war' games that just came out on x-box and ps-3?

OK, first of all, I agree with the premise of this thread that is is flat out wrong to teach violence (or the skills of that) to children.
That said, let me be a Devil's Advocate for a second because I had some funny thoughts when I read this thread title:
1. Is this significantly different from the "Duck and Cover" drills I had when I was growing up?
2. Seeing as how Georgia has quite an enemy in the USSR and has actually been at war with them, couldn't this be seen as a reaction to that environment?
3. Didn't Sparta do the same thing, as well as many citizen / soldier states of the past?
4. I'll admit it, I played with GI JOEs when I was young and soaked up as much violence as I could on the Bugs Bunny / Road Runner hour. I also bought tons of toy rifles and guns when I was young. Are we being hypocritical?
