Here are some night photography tips;

1. Use a fast (highly sensitive) film or push develop your usual film.

2. If you have a digital camera: set your ISO setting to a higher than normal value.

3. Use a flash.

4. Use other additional light sources like spots, or a reflector.

5. Use a fast lens.

6. Use a tripod.

And Photography: Available Light Photography::Night Photography is the original article for those who'd like rather more detail on the subject.

You'd call patience a poster, would you?

I don't think posters join fifty sites in a fortnight posting an identically-worded intro thread to each, myself. Following that up with plagiarized text from other sites is par for the course.

Perhaps you missed last month's ForumGarden spam registration from Jery/Kate/Alferd at http://www.forumgarden.com/forums/intro ... -site.html

Perhaps you even think patience is someone new?

I wouldn't dream of ever upsetting new posters, Ian. If you ever see me doing it, please let me know.

The misuse of a flash can ruin a good photo. Remember that depending on the power of your flash it can only work to a certain distance, therefore your subject needs to be the in range of your flash.

Watch for reflective material when using a flash, light bounces back and can leave bright spots in the photo.

Oh ya: Do not use your flash if you are on night surveillance, or spying, it can give you away to your subject.

I know it's in the interest of FG for someone to notice this crap so just nip it in the bud...

create a spam notice or something and post that... I would respect your judgment.....

I've always been against ever deleting posts from ForumGarden if possible, I'm far more in favour of playing with them in an area that search engines can't index. Spammers should be a source of amusement. Responding ought to be mandatory, not forbidden. Nipping it in the bud destroys the potential to chat like this.

If you ask patience nicely you might get a 2GB USB stick in exchange, too.

That was a long time ago and even you'd admit she made startling claims in her first post.

Ive always thought so. I mean really, whats the harm?

Its like a free pass to poke sticks at someone without them starting a thread about how insensitive you are.

Good lord no, it usually takes two minutes to know one way or another. What takes longer is something wrongly attributed. And if it's been made up by a third party but is nevertheless an accurate quotation of what they made up then tracing when it happened can take maybe quarter of an hour because it involves reading far more to work it out.

I only do it when I feel there's a need, you know, I'm not obsessed.

Fortunately "me calling one wrong" was the other way round, or I'd not be here.

The trick is to let go and apologize rather than self-justify. The difficulty is recognizing the initial error rather than clinging to it. Doing it even once is a shocking education in the power of the mind to build seemingly consistent pictures out of thin air.
