Aussies are BAD through and through!!!

Post by AussiePam »

Aussies are BAD through and through - according to the current issue of Focus, the BBC science and technology mag. And hey, no-one's gonna argue with that!!!

http://www.bbcfocusmagazine.com/issue/born-to-sin

We are a nation of sinners. It's official:

Australia is the most sinful nation on earth.

We ranked first overall in a study of the seven deadly sins - lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy and pride. OOOOH AHHHHHH!!!

The US apparently ate up first place for gluttony while South Korea climbed on top of the list for lust. Iceland ranked numero uno for both pride and sloth and Mexico acquired the most points for greed.

Australia, however, ranked in the top ten in all categories, and achieved a higher aggregate than the US, Canada, Finland or the UK.

We are the winners. Stone the bloody crows, Sport, it make ya proud to be an Aussie!!!!!

Thanks Mike. I must go read the whole article and see where Ireland ranks? One feels the Irish should have a sin or two up their sleeves. Of course St Patrick did banish the shnakes, and it was that durned shnake that got us all sinning in the first place.

No snakes

No sin

Therefore Ireland is a land of saints!!!

(And any Irish sinners got transported out to Botany Bay, yonks ago, and have no doubt helped make our aggregate what it is today... Go raibh maith aghaibh!!! Part of our Aussie Pride.)

Lusty, juicy books????

My book club meets on Monday to discuss Margaret Atwood's "Year of the Flood". I don't know about lusty or juicy, though Adam 1 and God's Gardeners might enjoy juicy, fruity stuff, and don't mind a bit of lust either - which comes nacherally. I might start a separate thread on this. I'm currently enjoying Adam 1's sermon on God as the Supreme Predator. The sermon is followed by a respectful hymn, based on the Church of Canada hymn book. Each hymn has in fact been set to music.. though I don't think any of them will dislodge my bellydancing earworm.

I think recognizing just how bad you guys really are is a step in the right direction.

As a nation you should repent, do some hail marys, maybe throw a couple of extra bucks in the collection plate.

Also stop hunting Aboriginies for blood sport. That would be a huge leap for you guys.

The last M. Atwood Book I read was "The Handmaids Tale."

That was pretty lusty in a breeding facility, tyranically oppresive, kinda way.

My bad for not picking up anything new.

I think i want to move to Australia!:D

Interesting book, that one - and a warning to us all.. grin..

Time of the Flood was fantastic, but I think I liked the first book almost better - Oryx and Krake (which I found in Denver airport Hudsons). Same time frame, different perspective. Totally differently written. There will be a third book in the series, hopefully coming out later this year.
