Malcolm McLaren Remembered

Post by koan »

Forgot to post this yesterday.

McLaren died of cancer at 64.

Even Johnny Rotten (Lydon) said a few kind words; “For me Malc was always entertaining, and I hope you remember that. Above all else he was an entertainer and I will miss him, and so should you.

Lots of news sources about him, some nice and some not so nice. He was pretty much known as a braggart who wanted to take credit for the entire punk movement and got stuck in a loop about it. Most likely he'll be one of those people who gets more credit for his work after he's dead.

Malcolm McLaren Remembered

fact is without him a lot of the punk period would not have happened...no pistols....he helped the buzzcocks form....probably no banshees as souxsie was involved with the pistols early on

i thank him for what he did for music....i think he leaves a bigger legacy than what a lot of the current crop of 'musicians' (and i use that term very loosely) will do

R.I.P. Malcom
The dogs philosophy on life. If you cant eat it, hump it or fight it,........ Pee on it and walk away!!
