The lusty month of May
The lusty month of May
It's May, it's May the lusty month of May
That lovely month when everyone goes... blissfully astray
Well, one has to have a few small goals..
Of course, most of the world is well behind Australia, so you lot are all still wallowing in April, but here Down Under.. .
It's May Day
And I'm putting spring flowers in my hair and dancing naked in the morning dew...
er.... well... OK
I'm putting autumn leaves in my hair and dancing in jogging gear in the icy morning rain
:sneaky:

By Idaho standards, Sydney is probably pretty warm most of the year. I swam in the sea on Thursday, frinstance. Then, of course, in early June the ski season begins in three south eastern States, so it's cold somewhere. June till September is winter. And up north in the tropics, it's probably very hot all year round.

I went to the thermal area of the North Island of New Zealand some years ago with my parents, Albert. The women bathed in the hot springs in one direction, the men in the other. My father returned, looking very pale and shocked .. and told me he then understood "why the Good Lord had invented clothes".

Dunno---------I was feeling pretty lusty or rusty last month and May will be no different.:wah:
It's starting to chill up here in the north end of the South Island and I am looking forward to leaving for California tomorrow, that is if California hasn't dropped off into the Pacific due to some new earthquake.

That song is going to be bouncing around in my head today AussiePam - still it's from one of my favourite musicals so that's not too bad. I'm glad the heat has gone, we need some rain now. Autumn - not exactly mellowness and mists but it'll do me

G'day Royd! And welcome to the Garden. Nice to see a fellow Aussie. What part of the Great Brown Land are you in?
The song that gets stuck in your head syndrome!! Yes, I suffer from that mightily too. It's apparently called an ear worm.
My current ear worm is a crazy French song about the Sky being My Limit! Get infected! :sneaky:

I've moved on, earworm-wise, Royd (is this short for Hemorrhoid???? One hasta ask! - and if so, I'll bring you one of those rubber ring cushions!) but yes, I guess the singer does speak French. It's French rock. I suspect he's originally from the Mahghreb, but will check.
I'll probably have "South Australia, I was born, heave away, etc" now...

Ouch - feeling a bit uncomfortable now :wah:
Nah just an old nickname AussiePam.
From the Mahghreb? All I know about that is it has a connection with Morrocco.
Have you heard The Pogues' version of "South Australia"? It really rocks

I'm very glad to hear you're not "afflicted", Royd!!!
And yes, the Pogues' version is great!

And here's the Dubliners' version (slightly the worse for wear?)

That's probably fed the current earworm, and I was kinda looking forward to another one this morning.. grin. Nice sunny Friday in Sydney and the weekend is closer.
