Snail's pace broadband

Post by Snowfire »

For the past week I have been experiencing atrociously slow broadband speeds when trying to surf the net and post here at FG. I know friday evening can be a little slow with the extra traffic but this is worse than dial up. Its making accessing the net near impossible.

I did a broadband test a few times yesterday evening and these were the results

1. D/load speed...33.5kB/s

U/load speed...18.6kB/s (Mybroadbandspeed.co.uk)

2. D/load speed...4.85Mbs/s

U/load speed...0.36Mbs/s (speedtest.net)

This is how much it is varying. I should be getting the best part of 8mbs. I am lucky just lately to get the normal speed above but for the most part I am getting the dial-up speeds in test 1. It seems like Ive been strangled to death but I'm never greedy with any downloading, in fact hardly anything at all this month and certainly no more than usual because I am working away during the week

Any helpful information would be appreciated
