How do you feel when your neighbour puts grass from mowing their lawn on your driveway?
Because it is a law, that no one can put anything on your property, how does it make you feel?
Have you ever said anything or do you just not care?

The private property you live on.....
Odie did this happen to you?
Grass wasn't my problem....
I don't own a animal - have a beautiful lawn/yard and work on it daily.
And nearly Daily I have Dog Waste in my yard... I got fed up posted and staked a sign:
"If Your Dog Sh**s In My Yard - You Clean It Up.!!!!!
Funny thing - my husband came home - saw a sign posted in the front yard - thought the House was For Sale....wah...!!!
Of course I'd speak up - If I wanted grass/junk piled there I'd put it there.. and may be you should.??

your just like me, I keep my front yard immaculate, now this will make you laugh, I use my leaf blower on the driveway when I use the lawn mower, weed eater or when a storm hits and there is crap everywhere, I have had several compliments over the years. I cannot put a sign there...as it would be on their property.

I am furious Kathy, she and I do not get along, she is a miserable old bat who has harassed me for years and I have done nothing wrong, she has nothing else to do it seems and some older people are that way.
So 2 years ago I told her to never never talk to me again.
My other neighbour says if I write her a letter, it may start a war, her son comes over and cuts her grass, he may even leave more there or do something worse. He said, its only grass...the rain or wind will take it away...
...not so, the other day it rained and the grass has now stuck to my driveway.
would any of you put a letter in her mailbox?
and thank you everyone, as I thought it was just me who would get upset.
thanks Zapata!

The next time they start mowing, fire up your leaf blower! As they mow, blow it back, right along side of them. Actions speak louder than words, they'll get the hint eventually.

Just make sure you know exactly where your property line is before taking action of any kind. Here in California the sidewalk and the drive in ramp to your driveway belongs to the city, your driveway starts on the otherside of the sidewalk that runs infront of your house that is the only part of the driveway that is private.

I think I would check with the city to see what action you could take. If she's dumping stuff on city property, i.e. the driveway, then the city should be able to do something about it. If it's on your property, then you should be able to do something. But you say you don't speak to her. I might be nasty enough to make a little grass package with a note attached, saying, "I think this belongs to you," and leave it on her property.:wah: Oh, wait, that's breaking the law and leaving evidence! Hmm, have to think about this one. I would NOT touch her mailbox. I believe that's an offense.

The city has nothing to do with it, as said, no one is allowed to put anything on someone else s property...its the law.
but I can mail her grass to her & say, 'doesn't this belong to you, I didn't know why it was on my property?
oh see now, I'd love to do that.:sneaky:

That's wonderful Helen....good for you girl:-6
It would be lovely if we could just let things go, but why should we when we've asked the neighbors to not pollute our yard. They just don't care, and their garbage becomes our problem. I'm sick of it
I replaced my fence that separates my property from theirs. Now I don't have all of their garbage.....tons of cigarettes and paper products....fly into my yard under the old fence.
I just went out and moved their bikes off of my fence. I know that I could probably get a ticket for trespassing on their property, but I don't care anymore. I don't want their bikes thrown onto my new fence. It's bad enough that the nice side of the fence has to face their yard and not mine:mad:

Try asking the Son to dump the clippings elsewhere please, like the garbage since your yard is not a compost pile...
I don't understand why there? why not their own yard? So on purpose to irritate you & it's working..
Any way you can put up a border/fence/hedge or call in several huge men...!! little intimidation usually works.

what I can do is take a picture of him doing it, where I last lived with Mike, we had the neighbours from hell, my lawyer advised me to start taking pics.....just in case.
well, the old man there piled up 6 feet of snow against the foundation of our home, including our basement windows and front windows, so I phoned the police who gave them a strong warning.
the old man never listened to them....he went back out during the storm and piled more up against our foundation....the next morning as he was doing the same, I came and watched him and took pictures....within one hour he had removed all snow.
He knew damn well it was against the law.:-5:-5

My old neighbor was working in his yard - then he started cutting on MY TREE. I blew a cork OMG - I would've been scared of me... wah !!
I know your mad -Take your pics - next time the son is mowing grass you should really talk nice to him - ignorant people need guidance. Monkey see Monkey do family..
I know I wouldn't appreciate the mess.
Your snow story - why didn't he pile the snow against his house? what a idiot
I know the son wouldn't have his same habit if you had some MEN over to observe. Cost ya a case of beer..!!
Patsy
Was your tree hanging over on his side Patsy? If it hangs on his property, he can cut down the branches.
that old neighbour did things out of spite and just to have a laugh, there had been 10 previous owners live at our home, he chased them away & us.
him shoveling 6 feet of snow against our foundation was just another way of saying, I can do what I want.
He called himself the Mayor, he would do what he wanted and when.
Our front grass touched his driveway...that is how close we were to him, everyday in the summer, he would park his truck right along his driveway where it meets our grass, leave all his windows down so I couldn't put my sprinkler on.
I remember the time he stood laughing at me in hopes that our old tree would come crashing down on his garage during a storm, just so he could get a new garage and that it would come off my insurance.
I loudly laughed back and said, Jerry, have you not read your insurance policy?
If my trees falls on your property, the damages come out of your insurance, not mine....Its called 'an act of god'.
Patsy, I have never seen his short fat body run so fast into his house!:yh_rotfl
He was calling his insurance company, and I knew I was right, as I had already checked into that.
- and..... he never said a word later.
Then one day while my sprinkler was on, it was hitting the sidewalk which is owned by the city, he came running out taking pictures!
I stood up from my steps laughing loudly at him saying, don't you have anything better to do, do you actually think that will stand up in court? and he ran inside.
I've learned so much about all different kinds of laws.... because of our old neighbour.

The private property you live on.....
You know, in a world where people in many nations are killed by their neighbours because they are of a different religion, ethnicity, tribe, race, or political belief, a bit of grass on my property is of no consequence.
I'm just grateful I live in a society that is based on mutual respect, not hatred.

I never said I hated anyone Richard, I am a very caring & respectful individual who goes above and beyond for family and friends.
I just don't understand why some in this world where there are so many tragedies, murders, rapes, countries continually at war, child molesters .....have to be so cruel, manipulative and spiteful to others.
but..that's another story my friend.
