Ummm, Its not so much putting the clocks "back" as returning them to where they were in the spring.
I don't see how it makes that much difference, anyway in a lot of places. In the North, you end up going to work in the dark, and going home in the dark, so what difference?

OH dear ....you should see the storm we have here over daylight savings....it's okay if you only have one time zone but it's all about economics when you've got several. So they are trying to make it about health are they? Hmmmm tell the dairy farmers that.

Time zones are an anachronism from the railroad days, really.
Set up a global standard time and let everyone just deal with the time differential for their area.
I guess if folks want to get up and go to work in the wee hours of the morning, so they can have some daylight after work, that's not a bad thing, but how much sunbathing are they going to do when the temp is below freezing, anyway.

Depends on your job too, I guess. A lot of people who work in factories in the UK won't see daylight until their day off. The night shift is likely to see more daylight than the day shift while commuting.
