This weeze has been going for a long time, I understand, however in case you are not aware of it, I will tell you......................... If you need to venture out in the snowy weather, and the pathways etc are still covered by snow or ice, just put a pair of socks over your out-door shoes and you will find you will not slip and slide, which could cause a nasty fall. My hubby has been doing this since it has been snowy round us, and has found that it really works !!! He is amazed, and wishes he'd known about this 'trick' years ago. He now feels very confident walking up and down our snow covered footpaths when he goes shopping. He recommends that everybody who needs to go out in the snow, should try this ------ IT WORKS ! :guitarist
Just keep your eye on the condition of the socks, as they will wear into holes possibly, after a few trips, and that could cause the socks 'trick' not to work as well.
Please don't ask where this tip came from originally, as my hubby heard it from another customer in the local supermarket !!!!!
Just in case you didn't know - safer walking in the snow !!!

I would think the snow would pack to the bottom of the socks and be slick. I'll have to try it out. Hopefully, though, we won't get enough to try it out in.

My hubby says that the snow doesn't seem to compact under the foot, on the sock at all, and I can vouch for this, as I have seen him when he walks in the door. That thought struck me as well, Peg, and I was surprised to see that the socks were snow-free when my hubby came home.

Removing your slick nylon trousers is high on the list of things to do in snow, they're called Death Pants for a reason. Once you start sliding in those you just accelerate downhill.
