Ladies can join in if they feel the need.

What do you use to shave your face? Electric Razor, straight edge, single blade, double blade, triple blade, quadruple blade, other? I'm a sucker for any new shaving device that comes on the market and over the years have tried everything, despite not having a heavy or difficult beard to shave. Currently I am quite happy with a non electric Quadruple Bladed Silicone Release Razor that gives me the perfect shave.

Smoother than a baby's butt. I'm one that can't stand to go more than a day (if that) unshaven. I'm afraid I never would have made it in past times where beards were in vogue.

I am, I fear, currently hirsute. Since before Christmas. I keep telling people "I could shave this off, you know" and they shudder, recalling what's beneath, and suggest I stick while I'm ahead.

When removing it I have a machine with a dial saying how many days' unshaven I wish to appear. I usually go for the Agassi look and set it at two.

You don't seem the sort to fall for all the hype Lon.

A sharp blade is a sharp blade, why would anybody need another blade or multiple blades to follow the first ?

I use a disposable Bic single bladed cheapy, with the aerosol type foam stuff that catches my eye while shopping.

You're hard as nails you.

I cant use them single blade bics. I can feel every hair being individually plucked from my face. Gillette Blue Two and I'm eminently kissable

And you are saying I am not ?

I read somewhere sometime ago that most men don't know how to shave properly.

You should first wash your face, then while still wet, lather well, before shaving, taking into account the way your beard grows.

(Maybe I am one of the ard suverners.)

Bic just doesn't do the job for me. My beard is light, but it's like steel wool.

I felt the need. ;)

This thread brings to mind this movie scene:

Any fellow here ever use the infamous straight razor?

I first learned to shave with a straight.

The Navy made me use a "safety razor"

I drew blood with the "safety razor" nearly every time I used it.

After the navy I quit shaving.

Tried it once when a job required clean face, and use one of the newer things, like BIC or some such.

The job lasted a month.

I never shaved again.

Still have my old straight blade, if I ever change my mind.
