Dogs and Toes

Post by koan »

Apparently it's a bit of an issue that dogs sometimes eat people's toes off. If you've got any sort of flesh problems in the foot area and own a dog you might want to shut your door at night.

Hungry dog eats toes of diabetic man, performs role of surgeon in home amputation

They eat their own **** too sometimes. So I hope it was a bacteria free surgery.

Some of us take exception to being licked, too. By pets. It's not as though one doesn't know exactly where they've been and what they've been up to.

To me, even the cute dogs are just cute for disgusting creatures.

And then there's the miniature Pekinese.

I have a theory which is that not only bona-fide breeders should have a shot at adjusting breeds, anyone should be able to set an ambition and breed toward it. I might set up a foundation for the development of the Sumo-Peke, with a minimum show weight of 140 pounds. That would be one ugly mother on the street after dark.

Clever dog, they are so intuitive, wound licking is an automatic response for a dog to an injury and if the area needs removed they will just get on with the task. Good on the dog for doing it i say.

Scientific research has shown there are a number of components of dog saliva that act against infection and promote wound healing, any cuts i have the first thing i do is offer it to my dogs to lick, heals in half the time. Bet that guys toe area heals much quicker than if he had surgery at the hospital, would be interesting to find out but they wont tell you that.

I heard from my uncle who was a paramedic that dog bites are nowhere near as prone to infection as human bites. Dogs have some pretty heavy duty sterilization equipment in their mouths. This dog probably thought it was doing him a favor.
