How I Cope Keep Sane In The 21st Century.

Post by jones jones »

I look upon the universe (Cosmos) as a living entity. Not living as we earthlings do, but nevertheless being alive in much the same way that I believe that a tree, shrub or flower etc is alive, except that unlike them, the cosmos never dies. Think of all the solar systems, planets & stars in the universe and how much LIFE must therefore exist out there!!!

Still with me? Good.

Now, I believe that the Cosmos thrives on positivity because if it did not it would surely not be able to exist. I also believe that the Cosmos will reward you for being positive because that will help it grow & expand. Likewise if you continually give off negativity, the Cosmos will reject this vibe and return this negativity from whence it came.

So # 1 … I try my very best to present a positive attitude to life. This is not always easy I know, but when I tell you HOW I manage to do this, you will understand.

So when I realised that all the visits to psychiatrists & psychologists was not helping me one tiny bit, I decided to find my own solution to my problems.

Being a writer and being an Indigo at the same time, I always want to know WHY? WHY? WHY? Even at school, I could not be fobbed off when I asked my teachers this question. If they could not or would not explain something to me, I found out for myself. So I am constantly wanting to know why?

When I read a book, I have a pen and notepad beside me and when I read something interesting, I make a note to do more research on the subject. This research turns up something else that is interesting and so on and so on.

And so it was that while doing my research I slowly but surely, and without even looking for them, I found some of the answers I sought. I used to be a terrible worrier, so much so that I used to chew my nails right down until they bled.

I think it was about five years ago that I decided to implement the following attitude towards my own life:

So # 2 … Whenever I want to worry about something, I ask myself: “Do you have any control over what might happen if what you are worrying about does actually come to pass?

If the answer is NO, then I dismiss the worry from my mind. Why waste precious energy on something that is out of my control? If I cannot control what might happen tomorrow or in an hour or in five minutes, why waste energy on it?

The only period of time I DO have any control over is NOW. So I put ALL my energy on the here & now because all else is simply a waste of energy.

So there you go … my way to cope & keep sane in the 21st century!
