I have been requested, and agreed to allow, a survey on environmental advertising.

Having taken the survey myself, I'd be interested on your comments about it :-)

I've put the thread here as a placeholder for the survey setter to use. They've been on hold for most of a week waiting for me to get back from holiday and give them permission to post it so I guess it might take a short while for them to react to my e-mail.

Hi all sorry for the delay.

This is a survey which aims to look at encouraging behaviour change through environmental advertising. You will be asked to view several environmental advertisements and answer a few questions. Please read the plain language statement at the beginning of the survey before you begin.

Thank you

Depends what you mean by environmental advertising, I notice some of the oil companies are advertising the environmental benefits of exploiting the canadian oil tar sands and gas fracking in the states despite the catastrophic damage that is causing. If it is effective in fooling people in to letting them get away with it then from their point of view that is effective advertising. Mountain top removal in the states is another one where money talks in making opponents sound like tree hugging idiots.

I couldn't have completed that any faster than I did and it took me 45 minutes. I wonder whether the designer ever completed it. The opening estimate of ten minutes is plain deception.

thanks for the warning folks. I'll just pass
I expressly forbid the use of any of my posts anywhere outside of FG (with the exception of the incredibly witty 'get a room already' )posted recently.

Folks who'd like to copy my intellectual work should expect to pay me for it.:-6

I didn't think it was THAT bad. But then I am ALWAYS being required to take these sorts of Surveys for work, so I'm used to it.

(not on environmental advertising, of course, but the method is the same)

It took me about 20 minutes.

Lots of comments certainly - make them think instead of just run a stats analysis :-)

Took me about 15 mins didn't add hardly any comments though.

If that is the 'good guys' advertising, they should recruit some of the 'bad guys' to design their ads.
