Doubtful - any radioactive dust being carried on the debris would be washed off during the two to three year journey.
Most of the contamination would have been windbourne and would have reached America days after the events rather than years - they haven't seen much locally so the concentrations thousands of miles away would be minimal.

With a travel time measured in years I think we can rely on storms to sink the vast majority of it.
I'd guess that the video shown was taken on the day of the tsunami - it certainly is not recent and gives a totally false impression of what is heading your way but the reality would be too boring for a news report.
