The same guy who bought the Tampa Bucaneers, now has control of the biggest football club in the world.
Being a Manchester United fan its a very sad day for myself and millions of other supporters. :-1

You support Man U - sorry , I never realised you lived in Devon (joke!!!) Seriously, why is the news so bad ; he rescued the Buccaneers and now they play in a 100,000 seater stadium; he bought the best coach for them, and now they`ve won a trophy. Isn`t that GOOD for you? Up the Hammers!!!
Malcolm Glazer
I ca't really believe that Glazer wants to asset strip Man U Abbey, why would he. He needs it as a going concern to repay the debt, yes I suspect you will have to pay more in ticket prices. Not sure the previous owners were any better, John Magnier had never even visited Old Trafford.
The real damage was done 11 years ago when Martin Edwards turned it into a public company. Problem is Abbey is it's a business now, remember the roy Keane "Prawn Sandwich" quote, well unfortunately the Prawn sandwich brigade are very vauable to clubs like untied becasue of the revenue they bring in.
Just and example of how it's changing years ago the percentage of executive to ordinary fans seats would be around 5%of total capacity, i.e. The new Wembley has 18,000 that is 20% of total.

Glazer's three sons have all been appointed to the board, the chairman has resigned.
Looks like a case of push off before he got shoved!

I've heard a lot of British members complaining about this guy, not just here but on my board as well....

Manchester United are the biggest football (soccer) team in the world, and he's been succesfull in his takeover bid and taken on up to £921 million of debt, if its allowed to run for 7 years then the accumulated repayment debt could reach as high as £1.5 billion!!
Fans are furious that our beloved Old Trafford and team are now in so much debt.
I personally feel that the team will inevitably suffer, and ticket prices already expensive, will go through the roof.

Well Abbey here I do agree with you - the appointment of his 3 sons reeks of nepotism which I truly dislike.

I hope that things wont change, it would be nice to think Glazer and the board will run Utd fair and things would stay on an even keel.
But we have to face facts, he's a businessman he did'nt buy the company for his love of the game, he's never set foot in Manchester!
If his history in deals are anything to go by then the fans are f***ed!
It's the end of an era, to me it's like the soul has been sold to the devil, unfortunately not a red devil.:-1

Just to somewhat liken our situation to Chelsea FC,
Roman Abramovich (Russian) bought Chelsea and Chelsea fans were a little sceptic at first, but he turned the club around he goes to each and every game, home and away, he spent money on the club taking on an excellent manager and they got silverware at the end of the season.
The main thing is the club has made massive profits this season.
Whereas Glazer has brought massive debt to a very healthy and very wealthy club, and sunk us in his massive debt.
So yes, it is purely a Glazer thing, we dont want him, we dont want his debt, we dont want his dodgy underhand dealing ways in our club.
