Born Frances Octavia Smith in Uvalde, Texas, she had a tumultuous early life. At age 14 she eloped with her first husband, Thomas F. Fox. She bore one son, Thomas F. Fox, Jr., when she was 15. Divorced in 1929 at age 17, she married August Wayne Johns that same year, a union that ended in divorce in 1935.

But what name did she take in the early 1930s and who did she marry in 1947?

I recognized her immediately even without her horse (Buttermilk, I think, or Butterscotch) under her & without her husband Roy Rogers. That's the singing cowgirl, Dale Evans! Yippee-O-Cai-Ay!

Jones, I'd like to ask you who the little boy is in your avatar. Is s(he) a child or grandchild of yours? I'm guessing s(he) is not you. What a sweet adorable face, such great exspression. I just love looking at him/her! I think he's a he.
