spiritual decadence
The world today has fallen into a general spiritual decadence. The custodians of religion have themselves contributed towards this decadent state. In the name of religion they have been stifling the human intellect and stifling the mind with irrational beliefs. They have practically denying the virtue of education and reducing human beings to the level of animals. This blunder is being repeated over and over again in the history of mankind. Hmmmm!

Hmmmm! You place the blame on "The custodians of religion" do you? Perhaps it can be said that society and their continued alteration of the definition of "decadence" in turn influences "The custodians of religion", whose responsibility it is to not continuously change their rhetoric, to meet societies change due to their collective fear of losing their followers...
"In the name of religion they have been stifling the human intellect and stifling the mind with irrational beliefs" - This can't happen unless the people are more than willing to play along.
Religious discussions remind me of bad infomercials...Complete sh*t products but the fact is that no one would attempt to sell that sh*t if they hadn't expected people would buy it

"Today" and "fallen" implies that at some time in the past the world was spiritually robust. When was that?
