Green members can already read about all this in another thread, it's not 'new' news.

Members are able to discuss in the other thread what is going on and who is right and who is wrong.

My advice to you is that this thread isn't such a good idea, the matter is being discussed elsewhere, you do not need to be fanning any flames right now. Trouble is discussion takes time we need to wait for members to come on board and give their opinions.

Reason I posted this? Some time back I sent a "Private" message to Spot and he responded by posting it in a thread. Whats good for the Spot is good for the Jj.

I can understand why you'd want to post this out in the open for all to see. I'm a firm believer in full disclosure and I *try* living up to that belief. It doesn't hurt getting non-green members opinions as well.

Surely, the terms of the forum are to send a PM to the member stating they have Incurred an Infraction and the reason or the relevant post.

You are so right. Its almost as if certain members here have "death wish" for FG. Sort of like if they continually push their own agenda FG might implode ... sad, but I think true.

To profess to Infract a member for being nasty or threatening and then write that In a private message where you think no-one will see I Is cowardly and hypocritical In the extreme. Personally, I find Spot's message to you disgusting. I would any member who was sent that.

I read thru Hiroshima and don't get why Spot has done this and I think he owes you an explanation. One can make amends if they so desire if they know what they did wrong. Koan certainly got away with it; why is that? How is that fair?

They never used to be, only since we went to lighter moderation did it happen for the green members, it's a perk of being green.

The over-whelming vote In the green room Including Bryn's Is that JJ should not have Incurred an Infraction. So can we have that Infraction withdrawn and an apology from Spot to JJ for singling him out?

May I suggest that Spot Is Infracted for the threatening manner of his pm to JJ.

Maybe one of the guidance rules for members should be if someone tries to wind you up do not respond in kind or if you prefer - if someone wants to spit out the dummy don't encourage them by picking it up. Don't know what you did exactly but I think I'll take betty boops advice and not join in.

I can see spot's concern because quite often someone who is willing to run someone off a site in a public thread is already running them off in PMs... if the people are daft enough to take such things seriously.

Behind the scenes some people like to start a pm campaign, they'll find a bit of 'dirt' on a poster and spread that dirt in PM's. Then they progress to having a group of people follow that person around online slowly but surely harassing them until that person leaves, or reacts within the forum boards in a bad way and ends up banned. They never ever contact that person direct in a pm, they just spread the poison around and about.

Good for you! What are you doing differently? I need to lose weight but if it involves exercise, I doubt it's going to happen.

Yes, that's the post I was referring to as insinuation. It's been mentioned elsewhere that JJ was trying to run koan off the site, and to attach a comment about some kind of PM campaign links the two in the readers' mind. I don't know how much more clearly I can explain that, Betty.

I just wanted to clarify that I was reading the same post as you. I think it's a matter of perception then, I don't see anything in that post that insinuates jj directly pm ing koan. I see koan second guessing that those that call people out in public threads are already managing a campaign behind the scenes that involves other members rather than the individual being targeted.

Personally I don't think one follows the other in all cases, most people just act slyly behind the scenes then act all innocent when someone outs them :wah: Seems to be a fact of forum life, just like real life.

I know Jj quite well and to run someone off site with PM's is NOT his style; as that would be cowardly and he is not a coward by any means. He will face them like a man as he demonstrated with his challenge.
