Haydock Park have confirmed Kauto Star will parade at the track on Betfair Chase day later this month and a statue of the legendary chaser will also be unveiled.

Trainer Paul Nicholls and owner Clive Smith announced on Wednesday the four-time Betfair Chase winner, dual Cheltenham Gold Cup hero and five-time King George VI Chase victor had run his final race.

While the 12-year-old now heads into retirement, his adoring public will get the chance to see him in the flesh on Merseyside on November 24 and in a further tribute, Haydock and Betfair have commissioned a half-size study of Kauto Star.

Now today Cheltenham chiefs are discussing the best way to honour Kauto Star.

Possibilities Include another statue but as we already have a bar and a resturant named after him, I'm more In favour of a stand being named after him. I think the chiefs should put the vote to the fans.

Another possibility Is to re-name a classic race after him as they did In honour of Denman when The Aon Chase was re-named ' The Denman' last year.

It was indeed a short one. But it was a good run I'd say.
Never quit.

I assume you mean Kauto's run was as short one. ?

Hardly.

Kauto made his debut at Newbury on 29th January 2004 at Newbury In the hands of Ruby Walsh. He retired last year.

Listen mate, call me an old cynic but my guess Is that you googled the odds for The Hennessy Gold Cup and found the thread I posted a year ago. That was the first thread you posted In and since, you haven't posted In any other thread except my horse racing threads. That's we we call a Troll.

Now, If you fancy yourself as some sort of racing buff and think you'll have a little bit of fun with me, trust me, on this subject, National Hunt, you'll lose.

However, If you want to seriously discuss the up and coming season, I'll happily take you to task on the subject.

Fancy your chances?
