Lance Armstrong about to say he lied

Post by valerie »

I get so tired of this. Lie for years and years and

THEN come clean, it just seems so pointless.

The interview with Oprah is supposed to be on

the OWN network this coming Thursday.

Yeah, I don't get it. He must be benefiting from the confession in some way, he sure isn't doing this to cleanse his guilt away.

I don't know what it is he would or should feel guilty about.

Cheating to win fame and fortune and then lying for years that he didn't cheat would be a good place to start.

He might feel embarrassed about all that. But guilty? Not that he doesn't feel guilt, he very well might. Regretful perhaps, but then he'd still be a nobody anyway.

There's a line in the story A Bronx Tale where the main character does something his mother wants him to feel guilty about. The father says something to the effect of "ah, leave him alone, he took a shot". Armstrong took his only shot at what he coveted. He broke the rules and got caught. Big deal.

It isn't like Armstrong falsely won the US presidency and then bombed some countries killing hundreds of thousands of innocent people and then got reelected. Now that's something a lot of people should feel guilty about. This? Nah!

Plus, if it got him laid, who's gonna condemn him for that?

He looked us in the face for year and pleaded his case. He swore.

At what point do you call the man a liar and stop justifying his actions?

Yeah, I didn't think he'd be doing this for his spiritual growth and cosmic harmony.

I feel almost as betrayed and sick to my stomach as when I heard these words....

Sad state of affairs.
